80L Oil Spill Kit – Portable Hydrocarbon Response

80L Oil Spill Kit for Portable Spill Response

The 80L oil spill kit provides a portable selection of absorbents, basic PPE and cleanup materials for responding to compatible oil, diesel, petrol, hydraulic-fluid and other hydrocarbon spills.

Its contents are stored in a high-visibility yellow woven polypropylene carry bag, allowing the kit to be positioned in workshops, warehouses, factories, fleet vehicles, construction sites and other areas where hydrocarbon spills may occur.

Two absorbent booms help limit the spread of spilled liquid. Oil-selective pads, an absorbent pillow and 6kg of absorbent scatter can then be used to collect compatible contained liquids.

Important Safety Information

The 80-litre figure refers to the nominal storage-bag size. Do not advertise this as an 80-litre absorption capacity unless tested or supplier-confirmed data supports that claim.

Before responding to a spill:

1. Identify the spilled liquid.
2. Consult the relevant safety data sheet.
3. Isolate the area and remove ignition sources where applicable.
4. Wear PPE suitable for the substance involved.
5. Confirm that the absorbents are compatible with the spilled liquid.
6. Use the booms to limit the spread.
7. Apply pads, the pillow or scatter to the contained liquid.
8. Collect saturated materials without spreading contamination.
9. Dispose of contaminated materials according to the SDS and applicable waste procedures.

The supplied nitrile gloves provide basic hand protection but are not resistant to every chemical. The woven carry bag is a storage container and must not be described as liquid-tight or used to contain free liquid.
